Congenital Melanocytic nevus

Congenial melanocytic nevus is a type of mole that is found in infants at birth Statistics reveal that this occurs in 1 percent of the infants in USA. And in 15 percent of the cases the area where the mole is located are neck and head. Now, let us see how does congenial melanocytic nevus look like? Well, the look of congenial melanocytic nevus is just like the one which can be acquired. However, as compared in diameter the congenial ones are mostly larger. There might be some hair too on this. But when there is excess hair then it can be termed as hypertrichosis. And when the diameter is too large and there is excessive hairy on it then it can be termed as giant hairy nevus. It is worth noting that in case of congenial melanocytic nevus, the neval cells are inside the dermis. In case, if it is small then there is no problem. But if someone wants to get it removed due to cosmetic reasons then it can be done via surgery. As far as large ones are concerned, it is completely up to the doctor to tell you whether the removal of the same is safe or not. It is important to note that the lesions are small and flat at birth. However, with age as the growth takes place, this will also grow proportionately.
