What is skin exfoliation?

Skin exfoliation is a special skin care method where the stratum corneum of the skin is eradicated. Stratum corneum refers to certain skin layer in the outer surface that consists of mostly dead epidermal cells. When these dead skin layers are being eliminated, living skin cells will get exposed, thus giving you with young and fresher looks.

Skin exfoliation gives way to obtaining fairer and brighter skin, a fresher skin tone, oil secretion diminution and enhances the infiltration of the skin care products' active ingredients.

While exfoliation offers a lot of significant benefits to anyone who utilizes such technique, it typically does not enhance major wrinkles. The reason for this is because the effects of skin exfoliation cannot get to the dermis where wrinkle formation takes place.

There are different methods of skin exfoliation available. Each does its own unique function and procedure. Among the prominent skin exfoliation techniques are the semi-invasive wrinkle treatments, deep chemical and laser peels, and the so-called routine exfoliation. The first three methods do a quite similar approach but the routine exfoliation differs from them. They are more on generating proscribed ordeals to the dermis. While routine exfoliation does its function by shredding dead cells out of the epidermis.
