Does Zinc Really Help Your Skin?

Zinc has been shown to aid in skin conditions commonly suffered.  Zinc is a synthetic protein that is used for many different functions in our bodies and it has numerous uses.  

Zinc is known to help in the healing of skin tissue and to prevent any scarring on the person that uses it. It has been tested and used as a means to reduce and help alleviate acne in some patients. It is the active ingredient in sun screen as well. It is also used to help with the symptoms of diaper rash and is used after a surgery to lessen the appearance of a scar.  

Zinc is also known to help reproductive organs in their growing process. It is also supposed to help with the symptoms of a cold, as we all do not look forward to having one.  

It is recommended that patients should only take so many milligrams per day because taking too many milligrams will actually hinder any efforts and the immune system. As it is true with any medication or herbal remedy, speak to the physician regarding the correct dosage before taking it.
